Over the past 20 years, filmmaker Wiebke Pöpel has created numerous commissioned films for renowned art festivals and cultural institutions, as well as her own artistic film projects and feature-length documentaries, including HELMUT LACHENMANN – MY WAY (2020), a co-production with German television SWR. Her works have been shown at many national and international festivals, and have received various awards.
Wiebke Pöpel’s international reputation is based on her talent to develop a unique visual language for each project, and her ability to transform the material into a virtuoso narrative. Depending on the type and scope of the production, she puts together a proven team whose members, with their qualifications and expertise, contribute to the outstanding film work.
Wiebke Pöpel is currently developing a new documentary film project. Apart from that, she is producing several commissioned works for selected cultural events.
